Kim Top Finisher as Broncos Conclude Cougar Classic in Fifth

PROVO, Utah - Boise State senior men's golfer T.K. Kim finished in 13th place at the PING Cougar Classic Saturday, leading the Broncos to a fifth-place finish in the team's final tune-up before the Mountain West Championships.
After opening with back-to-back sub-par rounds (71-70), Kim closed with a 2-over 74 at the par-72, 7,142-yard Riverside Country Club. He was one of 13 golfers in the field to finish the three-round tournament under-par (215, -1).
Kim has finished in the top 25 in each of this season's 10 tournaments, tied for the third-most in Boise State single-season history. His 18-career such efforts are tied for the fourth-most all-time by a Bronco.
Redshirt junior Jordan Skyles finished tied for 23rd, his third top-25 finish of the season. He posted rounds of 74-73-72, finishing the tournament at 219 (+3).
Boise State closed with a 292 (+4), completing the three-round tournament at 870 (+6). Boise State finished in fifth place, the team's second top-five finish this spring. Tournament-host BYU won the event with a score of 832 (-32).
Rounding out the scoring for the Broncos were redshirt senior Charlie Marusiak (75-71-75--221, +5), freshman Shane Allor (76-70-77--223, +7) and freshman Logan France (74-79-71--224, +8).
France's final-round, 1-under 71 tied his season low in relation to par.
Playing as individuals, senior Clayton Kosanovich finished tied for 28th, one stroke back of the top 25 (72-75-73--220, +4), and sophomore Jon VanDyk finished at 237 (81-78-78, +21).
The team will head to Tucson, Ariz., May 3-5, for the 2013 Mountain West Men's Golf Championships.
