CEDAR CITY, Utah--The NCAA announced the Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference (MRGC) will be granted Division I membership effective immediately, giving the conference full membership status.

The conference is a gymnastics-specific alliance between Brigham Young University, Boise State University, University of Denver, Southern Utah University and Utah State University. The MRGC began in 2014 with the member institutions, with the anticipation for full NCAA membership beginning in the 2014-15 season.

Boise State's own Kelsey Morris and Ciera Perkins, along with Denver's Moriah Martin, all advanced to NCAA nationals. The MRGC was one of two conferences in the nation to qualify each member institution to the NCAA postseason.

With official recognition from the NCAA, the MRGC championship meet will now count as a postseason competition. The status allows member institutions to begin official practices earlier than the past.
