Travis in Top 10 at Itani Quality Homes Collegiate

PULLMAN, Wash. - Boise State senior men's golfer Ty Travis is tied for ninth place after the opening rounds of the Itani Quality Homes Collegiate in Pullman, Wash., Monday.

Travis notched a total of eight birdies, three of which came consecutively in his 4-under first round. He recorded a two-round total of 136 (66, 70) at the par-70, 7,308-yard Palouse Ridge Golf Club.

Junior Logan France will enter the final round three strokes shy of the top 25, finishing the day 1-over after carding rounds of 70, 71 (141).

The Broncos are in 10th place as a team after recording a two-round total of 564 (279, 285-- +4). Oregon leads the tournament with a 541 (-19).

Rounding out the scoring for the Broncos was sophomore Kyle Mitsunaga (70, 73 --143, +3), junior Shane Allor (73, 71--144, +4), and sophomore David Elliott (73,74-- 147, +7).

Freshman Jacob Byers competed as an individual at the tournament and finished with a two-round total of 148 (76, 72--+8).

The final round is set to begin with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. (MT), Tuesday. Live scoring will be available at golfstat.com.
