Original showcase date postponed due to inclement weather
BOISE, Idaho – Boise State's Chase Gorder and Reese Knox will compete in the 2026 Genesis Invitational Collegiate Showcase, taking place tomorrow at Bluejack National in Montgomery, Texas.
Â
The event, which was supposed to take place at Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, California on Feb. 16, was postponed due to inclement weather.
Â
First held in 2015, the collegiate showcase provides a unique opportunity for a golfer to play their way into a PGA Tour event. This year's individual champion will earn an exemption into the 2026 Corales Puntacana Championship, which will be held July 16-19, 2026, in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
Â
Featuring 18 golfers, Gorder and Knox will participate for the first time in their collegiate careers. In 2025, Boise State was 1-of-3 collegiate institutions with multiple competitors, joining Wake Forest and Washington.
Â
Boise State has won the Genesis Collegiate Showcase in back-to-back years, with Cole Rueck winning the championship in 2024 and '25. Rueck, who shot a 71 (E) and won the competition in a playoff in 2024, defended his title last year and became the first two-time winner, carding a 3-under-par 69 for a one-shot victory.
Â
This season, Boise State has captured two team and individual championships and have amassed a 72-43-3 record. The Broncos will be back in action on April 6-7 in the UC Santa Barbara Intercollegiate, an event the team won during the 2024-25 campaign.
