Bronco Gymnastics Ranked No. 12 Nationally

BOISE, Idaho--The Boise State gymnastics team ranks tied for No. 12 in the nation in the GymInfo weekly poll for the week of Jan. 26.

After the Broncos’ 196.725-195.750 win against conference opponent Southern Utah on Friday, the Broncos bumped their average total score to 195.625 to currently lead the Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference. Boise State is knotted at No. 12 with Auburn in the weekly polls, marking its highest weekly ranking since January 13, 2014 (11th).

The Broncos rank second in the West regional weekly rankings, sitting behind leader Oregon State. Boise State holds the highest team score in the region which is comprised of Pac-12 and MPSF teams.

The Broncos also land inside the top 15 on three events as a team. After posting a 49.225 on vault for the second-straight week, Boise State is tied with LSU for seventh nationally on the apparatus. The Blue and Orange are ranked eighth in the nation on uneven bars, maintaining a 49.075 average. On balance beam, Boise State ranks 11th nationally with a 48.838 average nestled between future opponents Alabama (10th) and Ohio State (12th).

No. 12 Boise State will travel to Utah State to battle Aggies on Friday, Jan. 30 (7 p.m.) in Logan, Utah.
