LOGAN, Utah--The Boise State gymnastics team traveled to Logan, Utah to take on the Utah State Aggies and the UC Davis Aggies on Friday, Jan. 30. The Broncos recorded the win with a final score of 195.975, beating Utah State (194.275) and UC Davis (193.550). Senior captain Ciera Perkins catapulted into the Bronco record books after recording a perfect score, 10.0, on vault.

The Broncos led from the beginning of the meet and never looked back. Boise State ended its final rotation on vault where Perkins would enter Bronco history. The senior captain anchored the lineup and was awarded a 10.0 from both judges to hit a perfect score.

"I knew it was the best vault I'd ever done as soon as I stuck it," said Perkins. "I saluted and saw everyone's reactions and smiles, our coaches, the 15 other gymnasts, even the judges. I knew it would be a great score but I still didn't believe it once I saw it."

Perkins' 10.0 was the first perfect score on vault in Bronco history since Leslie Mott accomplished the feat in March of 1996. Julie Wagner also recorded a perfect score on the apparatus in March of 1993. Perkins now has seven vault wins on her career.

Boise State would total a 49.175 on vault, and each gymnast recorded scores of 9.725 or higher. Junior captain Maddie Krentz scored a 9.825, while freshman Ann Stockwell notched a 9.80.

The Broncos began the night on the uneven bars, where they recorded a 49.075 on the apparatus, the second-highest score of the season. Junior Krystine Jacobsen tied her career best, notching a 9.90 at the fifth position in the line-up. Sophomore Diana Mejia recorded a 9.85 on the night, while senior Ciera Perkins anchored the event with a 9.80.

Moving on to the second rotation on balance beam, Jacobsen this time set her career best mark with a 9.90. Jacobsen won both beam and bars titles, for her fourth and fifth career event wins. Junior Marissa Wossner tied her career high on beam, marking a 9.825. Sophomore Paige Urquhart posted another solid score this season, marking a 9.80. At the halfway point of the meet, the Broncos led 98.050 to Utah State's 97.025 and UC Davis' 97.575.

Boise State totaled a 48.750 on floor exercise. Senior captain Kelsey Morris paced the Broncos with her 9.80, while Wossner and Krentz each recorded scores of 9.775. Freshman Lianne Josbacher posted a 9.725 to help the Blue and Orange on floor.

The Broncos will head back to Utah to take on BYU and Denver on Saturday, Feb. 7 at 1 p.m.
