Broncos Lead US to Pan American Victory

SANTIAGO, Chile - A pair of former Boise State wrestlers helped lead the United States to victory in the Pan American freestyle wrestling championships, a United World Wrestling event, Sunday.

Andrew Hochstrasser (61 kilograms) and Jason Chamberlain (65 kg) each won gold medals, two of six for the Americans. The former Broncos helped lead the United States to 78 team points, 20 more than second-place Canada.

Hochstrasser, a two-time All-American and two-time Pac-12 Champion at 133 pounds (2009 and 2011), won his gold-medal match via technical fall (10-0) over Colombia's Wilmar Hernandez.

Chamberlain, a two-time All-American (2011 and 2013) and a three-time conference champion (2009, 2011 and 2013) at 149 pounds, earned his gold medal with a 4-0 victory in the finals over Abel Herrera of Peru.
