Travis Leads the Way at MW Championships

TUCSON, Ariz. -- Senior men's golfer Ty Travis led the Boise State men's golf team in the opening round of the 2015 Mountain West Championships, Friday.

Travis recorded four birdies en route to a 1-over 72 at the par-71, 7,144-yard Catalina Course at the Omni Tucson National Resort.

Junior Shane Allor also carded four birdies in the round, completing the day with a 2-over 73.

The Broncos concluded the opening round tied for eighth place with a team score of 295 (+11). UNLV, ranked 31st-nationally, leads the event at 273 (-11).

Sophomore Kyle Mitsunaga (74, +3), junior Logan France (76, +5) and junior David Elliott (80, +9) rounded out the scoring for the team.

The Broncos are scheduled to begin teeing off Saturday for the second round at 8 a.m. (MT). Live scoring is available at Golfstat.com.
