Broncos Finish 16th In Colorado

ERIE, Colo. - Boise State closed action at the Mark Simpson Invitational at Colorado National Golf Club Tuesday with a third-round score of 300 (+12), finishing the tournament in 16th place with a three-round score of 292-282-300 (874, +10).

Host Colorado's "A" entry took the title with a team score of 282-276-286 (844, -20), one stroke ahead of Wyoming. Utah rounded out the top three with a score of 277-286-290 (853, -11). Northern Colorado's Coby Welch captured the individual title by carding an 11-under 205 (70-69-66).

The Bronco quintet entered Tuesday tied for sixth in the 20-team field but struggled in the final round, combining for 17 bogies, five double-bogies and two triple-bogies against just 14 birdies.

Kyle Mitsunaga topped the Broncos Tuesday with an even-par 72 Tuesday, finishing the tournament with a three-round total of 73-76-72 (221, +5). Tristan Rohrbaugh was Boise State's top finisher in Erie, closing the tournament with a scores of 71-73-75 (219, +3) to place tied for 44th on the individual leaderboard.

Freshman Brian Humphreys closed his first collegiate tournament with a five-over 77, carding an overall three-round total of 74-69-77 (220, +4). Alex Francois finished at 75-67-79 (221, +5) and David Elliott carded rounds of 74-73-76 (223, +6) to round out the Bronco performance.

Boise State returns to action next Monday-Tuesday (Oct. 3-4) at the Ogio Utah Invitational in Park City.
