BOISE, Idaho - Boise State will honor its highest-achieving student-athletes Wednesday, at the men's basketball game against Nevada. During halftime, the 299 Broncos who achieved at least a 3.0 grade-point average for the fall semester or hold a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 will be recognized on the court.

Boise State student-athletes combined to record both the highest single-semester grade-point average and the highest all-department cumulative GPA during the 2016 fall semester. Boise State's all-department single-semester GPA of 3.24 eclipsed the previous record of 3.17, set in fall of 2015. The gymnastics team posted a 3.86 semester GPA, breaking its own school record for a single semester.

The Broncos' all-department cumulative GPA of 3.27 eclipsed the previous record of 3.24, set in spring of 2016. The fall semester also marked the 19th-straight with an all-department GPA of 3.0-or-better.

For the first time in school history, each of Boise State's athletic programs eclipsed a cumulative GPA of 3.0. Six programs set team cumulative GPA records, including the Bronco gymnasts, who bested their previous department record of 3.68 by earning a 3.77 this past fall. Men's basketball (3.07), women's basketball (3.40), soccer (3.48), volleyball (3.30) and women's track and field (3.51) each also set team records.
