Broncos Take Ninth In Provo

PROVO, Utah - Boise State shot a 3-over 291 in Tuesday's final round at the PING Cougar Classic to finish ninth at the event with a combined score of 874 (+10).
The tournament was the final tune-up for the Broncos before the Mountain West Championships, scheduled for April 21-23 at Omni Tucson National in Tucson, Ariz.
Tuesday, the Broncos were led by freshman Brian Humphreys, who carded a final-round 70 (-2) to finish the tournament at 6-over. Fellow freshman Mason Schulze started Tuesday with a 2-under 34 on the front nine, climbing as high as a tie for third on the individual leaderboard before going 4-over on the back nine, finishing the day with a 74 and the tournament at 1-under, Boise State's top performer at tied for 17th overall.
Senior Kyle Mitsunaga shot a 75 to finish the tournament at 1-over, tied for 27th overall, while junior Donny Hopoi carded an even-par 72 on the Riverside Country Club course to finish the event at 5-over. Freshman Connor Johnstone carded a 75 to finish the tournament at 11-over, while senior David Elliott, competing as an individual entry, finished at 23-over after shooting an 80 Tuesday.
