BOISE, Idaho - Boise State student-athletes made history Wednesday as Bronco student-athletes Sarah Taylor (women's soccer) and Sadi Henderson (cross country, track & field) were elected by their peers as the Mountain West's new Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) chair and vice-chair, respectively, for 2017-18. Their election marks the first time in Mountain West history that the leadership positions have been filled by representatives from the same member institution.

Taylor, a senior midfielder from Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Canada, has appeared in 59 matches for the Broncos in her career, scoring a pair of goals. She also represented Canada at the 2016 FIFA U20 World Cup.

Henderson, a redshirt junior, competes on both the cross country and track & field teams. Last year, she swept the Mountain West indoor and outdoor 800-meter titles in addition to earning second-team All-America honors in each event.

The Mountain West Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is comprised of 24 members, which includes 22 student-athlete representatives (two from each full-member institution), the MW representative to the NCAA Division I SAAC and one faculty athletics representative.

The group meets in-person once a semester in Colorado Springs and holds quarterly conference calls to discuss issues that impact student-athletes, including time demands, health and safety and other student-athlete welfare issues. The committee also provides feedback to various MW and institutional committees, and reviews MW and NCAA proposed rules changes.
