Donahue’s double-double on 13 kills and 10 block assists leads Broncos in loss.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Jessica Donahue's double-double on 13 kills and team-high 10 block assists was not enough to lift Boise State past Air Force Thursday night as the Broncos were edged in five 23-25, 26-24, 25-15, 16-25, 17-15. The match was another back and forth affair for Boise State as it rallied from 2-1 down in the contest to take the fourth set an force a decisive fifth only to come up short. The loss in the regular season finale for the Broncos moved them to 18-11 overall and 10-8 in Mountain West play.

Donahue ended the season as she began it against Long Beach State in late August with 10 blocks, tying for seventh most all-time in program history. The freshman finished the match with her second double-double of the year adding the 13 kills to her blocks, while hitting 33.3 percent.

Senior Sabryn Roberts hit a team-best 52 percent recording a team-high 14 kills while making only one error in the match. She also tallied one assist, two service aces and nine digs to finish tied with Donahue with 18 points.

Morgan Hughes added seven kills, two assists, two service aces, eight digs, nine blocks and 13.5 points. Kiley Lewis and Shae Duffy each contributed five kills, while Dani Boss dished out a team-high 20 assists, followed by Cassedi Simon with 19. Jessie Brigham recorded a team-high 13 digs as the libero.

On the night Boise State hit 18.2 percent for 48 kills on 44 assists with five service aces, 55 digs and 19.5 blocks — the second most in program history. For only the second time this season the Broncos lost when holding their opponent below 20 percent hitting as the Falcons finished at 17.1 percent.

Air Force tallied 63 kills on 58 assists with nine service aces, 55 digs and nine blocks.
