
Broncos Advance to Championship Game with 78-64 Win Over Saint Francis

Braydey Hodgins leads team with 15 points; Boise State to play Washington Sunday at 5 p.m. MT
SEATTLE, Wash. – The Boise State women's basketball team pushed the pace to defeat Saint Francis, 78-64, Saturday night at Alaska Airlines Arena. The win advances the Broncos to the championship game of the Husky Classic, Saturday against host-Washington.
Tied at 16 at the end of the first quarter, Boise State began to heat up on the offensive end at the start of the second quarter. Freshman Jade Loville hesitated on a three-point attempt causing the defender to fall out of position. With the court open, Loville drove to the basket for a floater that tied the game at 18. Ellie Woerner hit Sofia Galeron in the post on the next possession to give the Broncos the lead.
From there, Boise State never looked back, outscoring the Red Flash 27-17 in the period. The Broncos also opened the third quarter on a 17-0 run, holding Saint Francis scoreless until the 6:31 mark in the third quarter.
With seven players on the roster with ties to the State of Washington, Boise State got plenty of production from those playing in their home state. Of Boise State's 78 points on the night, 50 came from Washingtonians.
Boise State had four players score in double digits on the night, led by Braydey Hodgins with 15. Riley Lupfer had 13, while A'Shanti Coleman and Loville finished with 12 and 11, respectively.
The Broncos will play Washington Sunday night, with tip-off scheduled for 5 p.m. MT.
