2018-19 slate to feature big-time road matchups and key Mountain West home matches.
BOISE, Idaho (8/29/2018) – The Boise State women's tennis team announced their 2018-19 season schedule this afternoon.  The Broncos released both the fall and spring schedules, which features a total of ten events being held in Boise.
Â
"I'm really happy with how our schedule came together this year." said head coach Beck Roghaar. "We have some great team events in the fall including having players invited to the prestigious All-American Championships. The spring slate offers us some great opportunities and challenges to help our team and program take the steps forward we are aiming to take."
Â
The fall season potentially includes seven tournaments, highlighted by the ITA Mountain Region Championships at Las Vegas and the Barb Chandler Classic in Boise.
Â
The Broncos will kick off the fall portion of the season on September 13th, when the team travels to the four-day Air Force Fall Invitational.
Â
The ITA Mountain Region Championships will be held in Las Vegas, Nev., on October 10th-14th, and will provide the Broncos a chance to showcase their skill against the best players in the region.
Â
Later in the fall, the team will host the Barb Chandler Classic from October 26th through the 28th.
Â
"Our home tournament should be phenomenal at the end of October," said Roghaar. "We have some great competition coming to Boise."
Â
The tournament will be held at the Appleton Tennis Center on campus.
Â
The ladies will begin their spring season with three-straight home matches against Idaho State, Weber State, and Lewis-Clark State, in Boise. In all, Boise State will play nine home matches during the spring.
Â
The Broncos will face some big tests on the road this season, traveling to Provo, Utah, to face BYU on Feb. 8th, and making the trek to Salt Lake City, Utah, for a battle against the Utah Utes on February 10th. Also on the road, the Blue and Orange will travel to Pullman, Wash., to take on the Washington State Cougars on March 23rd.
Â
Roghaar believes his team will be up for the challenge: Â "With what we learned last season, and who we are now, I know our team will go into those matches with the mindset it will take to win. We just can't wait for the opportunities to present themselves."
Â
Boise State will begin Mountain West play on the road against Air Force on March 17th. Their first home conference match will be on April 12th, when Colorado State rolls into town. A few days later, the Broncos will host another MW rival, Wyoming, on April 14th.
Â
The regular season will wrap up in Logan, Utah, on April 20th against Utah State.
Â
This year's MW Conference Championship Tournament will be held in San Diego, Calif., April 24th-28th.
