Broncos Open Mountain West Tournament Against Wolf Pack

WHAT'S NEXT: The Boise State women's tennis team will open play at the 2026 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Tournament in a quarterfinal match against No. 7 Nevada on April 23 at 11 a.m. MT in Las Vegas, Nevada.

SCOUTING THE WOLF PACK: Nevada closed the regular season 9-11 overall and 5-6 in MW play. The seventh-seeded Wolf Pack defeated No. 10 Colorado State 4-1 to advance to the quarterfinals. Boise State defeated Nevada 4-0 on March 27 and has won two straight in the series.

REPEAT WATCH: Boise State enters the tournament looking to defend its 2025 title. The Broncos (18-3, 10-1 MW) would become the third team in MW history to win back-to-back tournament championships, the first in more than a decade, and the first among current members. TCU accomplished the feat in 2009 and 2010, while BYU did so in 2004 and 2005.

NO. 2 SEED: The Broncos enter the tournament as the No. 2 seed, their highest since joining the MW in 2011-12.

Polakova and Safarova were named to both the all-singles and all-doubles teams, while Isaacs and Viriant earned all-singles honors. ONE OF ONE: Head coach Beck Roghaar (2011-present) became the program's all-time winningest coach with his 182nd career victory, surpassing Mark Tichenor (1999-2010) in the win against Gonzaga on Feb. 28. He enters the tournament with 194.

MW WEEKLY AWARDS: Safarova earned MW Player of the Week honors three times this season (March 18, March 25 and April 15). She now has seven career awards, the most among active players in the conference, and three this season, also the most in the conference. Carla Grignac earned MW Player and Freshman of the Week honors on Jan. 28 after a win at No. 6 singles against nationally ranked Washington, becoming the third player in MW history and second in program history to earn both honors in the same week. She added her second and third Freshman of the Week honor on April 15 and April 21, finishing the season tied with the most freshman honors.

COACH OF THE YEAR: Roghaar, in his 16th season at the helm, was named MW and ITA Mountain Region Coach of the Year for the 2024-25 season. The former marked his third conference Coach of the Year honor, while the latter was the first regional recognition of his career, making him just the second coach in program history to receive the award.

IN THE RECORD BOOK: Isaacs earned her 17th win at No. 4 singles against Utah State on April 17, giving her the most single season wins at that position in program history. She surpassed Anita Pearson (1997-98). Safarova holds the fourth-most career No. 1 singles wins (34). Gayleen McManus holds the program record with 50 wins at the top singles spot from 1994-98.
