Broncos Hit Century Mark, Crush Spartans

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Derrick Alston had a career-high 33 points as Boise State romped past San Jose State 105-57 on Saturday.
Alston hit 12 of 15 shots, including 5 of 7 from beyond the arc.
The 48-point Bronco victory was the second-largest margin of victory against a conference opponent in program history. The 105 points was a season high for the Broncos and the first 100-point game since Nov. 10, 2017 last season.
RJ Williams had 22 points for Boise State (11-13, 6-5 Mountain West Conference). Alex Hobbs added 17 points. Marcus Dickinson and Justinian Jessup had 11 and 10 points, respectively, for the home team.
The five Boise State players scoring in double figures marked the second time this season Boise State has achieved the feat, with the previous time coming at San Jose State (Jan. 12).
Boise State totaled 59 points in the second half, a season best for the team.
The Broncos ended up shooting 62.7 percent from the field thanks to a 40-of-64 effort. The field goal percentage is the highest for the team since shooting 64.2 percent against Air Force two seasons ago on March 4, 2017.
Michael Steadman had 16 points for the Spartans (3-19, 0-10), who have now lost 13 games in a row. Christian Anigwe added 10 points and 12 rebounds.
Brae Ivey, whose 11 points per game entering the matchup ranked second on the Spartans, shot only 14 percent in the game (1 of 7).
The Broncos improve to 2-0 against the Spartans for the season. Boise State defeated San Jose State 87-64 on Jan. 12. Boise State matches up against Fresno State on the road on Wednesday. San Jose State plays New Mexico on the road on Wednesday.
