Erlam Reaches Second Final at NCAA Zone Diving Championships

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - Boise State freshman Marti Erlam closed out her first ever NCAA Zone E Diving Championships with a second trip to a final, this time on the 1-meter springboard. Yesterday she advanced into the 3-meter springboard final where she placed 12th, today it was the 1-meter and a 14th-place finish. Not bad for a talented freshman with three years remaining.
Erlam placed 12th during the preliminary round scoring a 270.80 which was good for 12th out of 57 divers. The top-18 advanced to the final round where Erlam tallied a 269.7 for a combined score of 540.50 to place 14th overall, 24 points out of fifth.
While Erlam's season is over with the 1-meter springboard Tuesday afternoon, senior Cassidy Bose — who did not compete on the 1-meter — will return to action Wednesday in the platform diving competition.
