BOISE, Idaho – Beck Roghaar, Boise State's head women's tennis coach, announced today the signing of Ana Conde Vendrell of Paris, France. Conde Vendrell is the third member of the recruiting class that will start competing in the blue and orange next fall joining Mae McCutcheon and Joana Baptista.

"I chose Boise State because I really liked their vision of sport and studies and got along very well with my coaches," said Conde Vendrell. "I really like the fact that they are very attentive to my results and my trainings and how I feel in general. The team seems to be very close and that's what I'm looking for."

Conde Vendrell comes to the Broncos with quite the international resume, being a two-time finalist at the Paris Championships, a three-time qualifier and finalist at the Team Championships of France and a four-time winner in the Team Championships of Paris. In addition, she won national tournaments at Amiens and Paris as a junior. Conde Vendrell brings a lot experience with her, as well as having transition points on the ITF Pro Circuit.

"Ana is going to add some really great things to our program as a player on and off the court as well," said Bronco head coach Beck Roghaar. "I love her mindset towards challenges and working hard. She isn't afraid of the tough stuff and that's what we want here in our program. The willingness to do what it takes to be elite. Ana is the type of player that won't need convincing of doing the details and what it takes to get to the top. It's part of who she is and the goals that she has, that fits very well with the culture here at Boise State."

Conde Vendrell on coming to Boise State, "The opportunity that I'm receiving it's awesome! I don't think that I've really realized what it means yet, all I know is that I will take advantage of this opportunity to the maximum because it is an incredible opportunity for me. I think tennis is a very lonely sport and often it's hard when you don't feel pushed and supported by a team, that's why I love the idea of being part of a team as a second family."

Conde Vendrell on herself, "I think I'm very aggressive and determined on what I want, I always give my best, I fight until the last point of the match and I'm not afraid to work for hours even if it's not easy. I love competing! I always want to improve myself to be better and better, especially on court because I think that it's an amazing sport that can help you in your everyday life."

Conde Vendrell on Boise State's coaches, "I really like the relationship with coaches Beck and Maria, they are very attentive to all the details and what I do even if they are far away and very busy."
