BOISE, Idaho - Neil Resnick, co-head coach of the Boise State gymnastics team, announced his retirement Friday.

"I have been truly blessed to have worked with so many amazing people," Resnick said. "I want to thank my administrators, support staff and, most importantly, the student-athletes, for making my years at Boise State some of the most enriching and memorable of my life."

Resnick and fellow co-head coach Tina Bird have won conference coach of the year honors six times since they took the helm in 2008, and the Broncos have won conference championships in nine of their 12 seasons. Included were titles at each of the last five Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference Championships, tied for the longest streak by a Boise State athletic program in school history.

The duo also garnered NCAA West Region Co-Head Coaches of the Year in both 2008 and 2017, and have led the Broncos to the NCAA Regional in each of their 12 seasons.

Academically, the team combined for the highest grade-point average in the country among gymnastics programs in both 2015-16 and 2017-18. The team also finished No. 2 nationally in 2016-17 and No. 3 in 2014-15.

"During their tenure here at Boise State, the team has achieved unprecedented success both athletically and academically," Director of Athletics Curt Apsey said. "We thank Neil for his dedication to the University and we wish him the best of luck in the next phase of his life."

Tina Bird will serve as head coach for the upcoming season. Patti Resnick will continue to serve as an assistant coach, and a national search to complete the staff will begin immediately.
