As Boise State graduates six seniors who made up one of the most decorated classes in program history, it creates a major opportunity for new players to leave their legacy.

Along with the returning seven Broncos, Boise State will welcome a decorated seven-woman freshman to the City of Trees in 2020-21. The motivated, hungry group boasts numerous all-state and all-section honors, league MVP awards, and team titles at the state, section, and league levels.

Beginning today, here at BroncoSports.com we will highlight a member of this class for "#FreshmanFriday," beginning with Scottsdale, Ariz., native and Chaparral High School standout Anna Ostlie.

Ostlie, a 5-foot-8 guard, is a pure shooter in the mold of Bronco graduated senior Riley Lupfer. Before suffering a season-ending knee injury in December, Ostlie was averaging 21.6 points per game, shooting 52.4 percent (33-for-63) in 2019-20, and had hit 161 3-pointers over her Chaparral career.

As a junior in 2018-19, Ostlie averaged over 18 points per game, hitting 53 3-pointers (after hitting 54 as a sophomore). Her performance earned her a spot on the Arizona Republic's All-Arizona Team. The previous season (2017-18), Ostlie hit 54 3-pointers and scored 17 points in the 5A state title game to help lead the Firebirds to their first state title since 2001.

After the announcement of Ostlie's signing with the Broncos, head coach Gordy Presnell said, "Anna is very similar to Riley Lupfer, she's a pure shooter. She has a great work ethic and has led her team to a state championship."
