BOISE, Idaho – Boise State placed four student-athletes on the 2020 NCAA Division I Academic All-District 7 at-large teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
The teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom. District 7 includes schools in Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.
Boise State gymnasts Isabella Amado and Courtney McGregor and swimmer Robin Pinger were named to the women's team while golfer Brian Humphreys was recognized on the men's side.
The Broncos garnered the most awards among District 7 schools. Boise State is the only Division I school to place two gymnasts on an all-district team and only Harvard and Stanford (four) earned more undergraduate honors on an all-district women's squad.
McGregor, a health studies major with a 4.0 GPA, received all-district accolades for the second-straight year. She won the all-around title at the 2019 Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference Championships.
Amado earned a 3.92 GPA as a medical studies major. She was the beam champion at the 2019 MRGC Championships and was a 2020 All-MRGC Second Team selection in the event.
Pinger earned her degree in May with a 3.97 GPA in graphic design. She is a 2018 CSCAA Honorable Mention Scholar All-American and a three-time Academic All-Mountain West and MW Scholar Athlete (3.5 or better cumulative GPA), as well as a seven-time Dean's List member with high honors. In the pool, she is a five-time Mountain West champion and a 13-time All-Mountain West honoree.
Humphreys posted a 3.64 GPA as a double major in finance and supply chain management. His senior year with the Broncos was cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic, but he has elected to come back for another season after the NCAA granted an extra year of eligibility to spring sport student-athletes. He was named All-Mountain West in 2017, the same year he captured the individual medalist honor at the conference championship.
