Throwback Classics: 2017 MW Title Game

Bronco Throwback Classics, a series featuring the television broadcasts of classic football games from the past several seasons, airs Thursday, with the 2017 Mountain West Championship Game. Boise State's 17-14 victory over Fresno State will begin at 6 p.m. MT on the Boise State Football Facebook page, Facebook.com/BroncoFootball.
Meeting for the second-straight week, the Bronco and Bulldogs engaged in a grueling battle in which points and yardage were at a premium.
Trailing 14-10 with 7:45 remaining, the Broncos opened at their own 10-yard line and proceeded to march 90 yards in seven plays for what would be the winning score. The key play would be Brett Rypien hitting Cedrick Wilson for 59 yards on 1st-and-15 from the five to the Bulldog 36, and six plays later, Ryan Wolpin would bowl into the end zone from two yards out.
The Boise State defense would force Fresno State into a three-and-out on each of their final two possessions, with Leighton Vander Esch sealing the win, and the Mountain West title, with an interception of Marcus McMaryion with 1:50 remaining.
