Support in a Time of Trauma
11/19/2021 4:00:00 PM | Football
BOISE, Idaho – Boise State always plays for its city, but following a tragic shooting at a Boise mall on Oct. 25, it means more. Starting with the Broncos' game against Colorado State (Oct. 30) and continuing through the remainder of the season, the Broncos have honored their community and those affected with a City of Boise helmet sticker.
Bronco Nation has seen the stickers on our helmets, and will have an opportunity to receive one while providing support in a time of trauma Saturday while entering Albertsons Stadium for the regular-season finale against New Mexico (7 p.m.).
The Boise State football team has printed an additional 5,000 helmet stickers, which will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at the marketing table in front of the Allen Noble Hall of Fame prior to kickoff against the Lobos.
The City of Boise has set up a Community Resources page, which includes, among other resources, links to Go Fund Me accounts for the memorial funds of Jo Acker and Roberto Padilla.
The page will be linked to a QR code in front of the marketing table. Simply snap the QR code with your mobile phone before entering the stadium, and receive one of the stickers that the Broncos are wearing on their helmets. While no donation is required, we do encourage members of our community to use the QR code to help support the efforts to add healing.
