Boise State men's basketball plays its final nonconference game Wednesday, in a neutral-site matchup with Washington State in Spokane, Wash. Tipoff is slated for 5 p.m. PT/6 p.m. MT at Spokane Arena.

ABOUT WASHINGTON STATE: The Cougars are 8-4 and ranked in the top 50 in both NCAA NET (No. 50) and KenPom (No. 44) ratings. Michael Flowers averages 14.3 points per game to pace a Washington State offense that scores 77.7 points per game.

SERIES HISTORY: Washington State leads the all-time series 4-2. The last two meetings were part of a series played in consecutive years in 2006 and 2007. The 2007-08 season, which ended with both teams reaching the NCAA Tournament, included a November meeting in Boise when the ninth-ranked Cougars escaped 86-74. The 2006 game took place at Spokane Arena, a narrow 65-63 WSU win.

FIVE STRAIGHT: Boise State is riding a five-game win streak, during which it is outscoring the opposition by 22.2 points per game. The Broncos are shooting 50.7 percent from the floor and 42.1 percent from three-point range the last five games.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK AGAIN: Tyson Degenhart was named Mountain West Freshman of the Week for the second consecutive week after leading Boise State to wins over Santa Clara and Montana Tech. Degenhart averaged a team-best 16.5 points across the two games, leading Boise State with 18 in the win over Santa Clara.

SPOKANE CONNECTIONS: Boise State features a number of Spokane connections on its roster. Head coach Leon Rice spent 11 seasons as an assistant at Gonzaga before taking over the Broncos' program.Max Rice, an infant when Leon joined the Gonzaga staff, spent much of his youth in Spokane. Forwards Tyson Degenhart (Mt. Spokane) and Naje Smith (Lewis and Clark) both attended high school in Spokane, leading their respective schools' basketball teams to unprecedented success at the state tournament.
