Broncos Settle for Split in Las Vegas

2/11/2021 5:59:00 PM | Women's Basketball

LAS VEGAS – Four Lady Rebels scored in double figures and UNLV posted a 74-62 victory over visiting Boise State, Thursday.

The win for the Lady Rebels (11-8, 9-5 Mountain West) resulted in a split of the two-game series with the Broncos (10-7, 7-7).

With four games remaining in the conference regular season, UNLV has a two-game advantage over Boise State for fourth place. The Broncos are a game ahead of Wyoming (6-8 MW) and swept the Cowgirls earlier this season. Nevada (5-7) is percentage points behind Wyoming and has two games in hand. The top-six teams earn a bye in the first round of the Mountain West Women's Basketball Championship.

Mallory McGwire scored a game-high 19 points and pulled down a career-high 20 rebounds. The boards total ties her for fifth on the Boise State single-game list. She surpassed the 1,000-point total (1,002) in her career at Oregon and Boise State combined.

Jade Loville chipped in 14 points and finished the series with 54 after a school-record 40 in Wednesday's victory.

Boise State travels to Utah State for games, Feb. 18 and 20.
