BOISE, Idaho – Boise State head women's basketball coach Gordy Presnell announced Thursday the addition of Boston College transfer Sydney McQuietor for the 2021-22 campaign. McQuietor is a 6-2 forward who will have four years of eligibility remaining to play in the blue and orange.
"Sydney is an active athletic post player that can play multiple positions," said Presnell. "She has a terrific high school career and was ranked 17th overall in her position according to The Blue Star Basketball Report. We are excited she has decided to become a Bronco."
McQuietor played in two games as a freshman at Boston College versus New Hampshire and UMass Lowell. Because the NCAA has ruled that all fall and winter 2020-21 student-athletes get this year back in eligibility, she will have four years to play for the Broncos.
The forward was a prep standout at Keller High School in Keller, Texas, where she was ranked in the top-20 nationally for forwards by The Blue Star Basketball Report even after missing her senior year due to injury.
She finished her junior year with 533 points, 497 rebounds with 90 blocks and helped KHS to the 2018 Bi-District 6A Championship.
Prior to Keller, McQuietor played two seasons for Westlake Academy where she played varsity as an eighth-grader. While at Westlake they won the 2016 and 2017 TCAFÂ State Championships.
McQuietor was a 2017 TCAF All-State honoree, three-time All-District 6A honoree and two-time team captain. She finished her high school career with 1,167 points and 935 rebounds.
Outside of basketball, she was the Texas State Champion in the discus. Academically, McQuietor was a National Honor Society honoree, four-time All-Academic District Team and two-time All-Academic State Team member.
