Taviore Claims Bronze at World Athletics U20 Championships

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State track and field sprinter Anita Taviore earned a bronze medal as a member of Nigeria's 4x100-meter relay at the World Athletics U20 Championships in Nairobi, Kenya, Sunday.
Taviore ran the third leg of the relay, splitting 11.50 and helping her team notch their spot on the podium with a time of 43.90.
The Lagos, Nigeria native had a historic freshman season earlier this year. In her Boise State debut, she finished second in the 200m and was a member of the first-place 4x100m relay team. She topped the podium in the 400m at the Hayward Premiere and set the school record in the 200m at the West Coast Relays, clocking a time of 23.25.
Taviore capped off her inaugural season qualifying second in the 100m at the Mountain West Championships and earning a spot at the NCAA West Preliminaries in the 200m, posting a personal-best time of 23.18 to lower the school record she set a month previously.
