Kigab Selected in First Round of NBA G League Draft

Former Bronco taken with 13th overall pick
BOISE, Idaho – Former Boise State forward Abu Kigab was drafted in the first round of the 2022 NBA G League Draft, as the Fort Wayne Mad Ants selected Kigab with the 13th overall pick Saturday.
Kigab was the second Mountain West player selected in the draft after being selected by the Indiana Pacers affiliate.
A three-year starter for the Broncos, Kigab was a two-time All-Mountain West selection with the Blue and Orange, and he was the 2022 Mountain West Tournament MVP after averaging 14.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.7 steals per game in Las Vegas.
As a fifth-year senior, Kigab led Boise State to a sweep of the Mountain West regular season title outright and the conference tournament titles, as well as the highest-NCAA tournament seed in program history in 2021-22. The Broncos became only the fifth team in conference history to sweep both titles.
For his Boise State career, Kigab started 78 games and scored 1,035 points. He averaged 12.9 points and 5.1 rebounds per game as a Bronco. Â
Kigab played for the Niagara River Lions of the Canadian Elite Basketball League this fall after appearing for the Toronto Raptors in the NBA 2K23 Summer League. The Ontario native also was a member for the Canadian Senior National Team for the FIBA AmeriCup 2022.
