Broncos Defeated by Bulldogs in MW Championship

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State's quest for a Mountain West title was dashed with a 28-16 loss to Fresno State in the conference championship, Saturday, at Albertsons Stadium.
 
The Broncos got on the board first with a 26-yard field goal from junior kicker Jonah Dalmas with 10:16 left in the second quarter.  After two back-to-back Bulldog touchdowns late in the quarter, the Boise State offense drove 45-yards in 1:16 to set up a 47-yard field goal from Dalmas to cut Fresno State's halftime lead to eight.
 
The Bronco defense forced a three and out, leading to a 44-yard field goal from Dalmas with 10:04 left in the third quarter. Then, the Bulldogs scored touchdowns on consecutive possessions in the fourth quarter.

Redshirt freshman quarterback Taylen Green connected with sixth-year senior wide receiver Davis Koetter on a 52-yard touchdown pass with 5:17 remaining, cutting the lead to 28-16. Boise State did not convert an onside kick attempt.

- Sixth-year senior wide receiver Davis Koetter caught five receptions for 93 yards, including a 52-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter.
- Redshirt freshman quarterback Taylen Green was 17-for-38 for 175 passing yards and a touchdown. Green added 30 yards rushing on eight attempts.
- Redshirt junior running back George Holani led the Bronco ground game with 74 yards on 13 attempts.
- Redshirt sophomore safety Rodney Robinson led Boise State with seven tackles.
 
Notables
- Junior kicker Jonah Dalmas was 3-for-3 on field goal attempts. Dalmas raised his career-total to 54, the second-most in program history.  
- Sixth-year senior wide receiver Davis Koetter's 52-yard touchdown catch in the fourth quarter marked the longest scoring reception by a Bronco this season.
- Fifth-year senior cornerback Caleb Biggers recorded his first-career sack in the second quarter.
- Redshirt senior nose tackle Jackson Cravens notched his first sack of the season during the opening possession of the second half.
- Redshirt sophomore nose tackle Herbert Gums registered his first-career solo sack in the third quarter.
 
What's Next
Boise State achieved bowl eligibility for the 25th consecutive season and will await a bowl decision. The bowl schedule will be released Sunday, on ESPN, beginning at 10 a.m. MT.
