ABOUT SAN DIEGO STATE: The Aztecs rank as one of the top defensive teams, not only in the Mountain West, but in the nation. San Diego State limits opponents to scoring 57.09 points per game, good for first in the conference and second in the nation behind North Texas.

SERIES HISTORY: San Diego State leads the all-time series 17-8. The Broncos are 5-4 against the Aztecs at home since joining the Mountain West and have won three of the last four meetings. The last time San Diego State visited Boise was in 2019.

AT THE PEAK: The Broncos have won at least 11 Mountain West games in seven of the last eight seasons. In the 11 years Boise State has been a member of the MW, only it and San Diego State have seven seasons with at least 11 conference wins. Boise State has won at least 12 MW games in five of the last eight seasons, the most 12-win campaigns during that span of any MW school.

NOTHING NEW: Tyson Degenhart was named the MW Freshman of the Week for the fifth-straight week and the league-leading eighth time this season. His eight honors are more than the rest of the league's freshmen combined. Degenhart averaged 10.5 points and 6.5 rebounds in games against Air Force and Utah State, leading the Broncos to a pair of victories this past week to remain a half a game in front of Wyoming for first place in the MW. Degenhart went 7-of-15 from the floor (.467), including 2-for-6 from 3-point range (.333), and was 5-of-6 at the free throw line. He was an efficient 3-of-5 from the floor against Air Force, a game in which Boise State had its best shooting performance in nearly 15 years, shooting 33-of-48 (.688).
