BOISE, Idaho - Boise State Head Volleyball Coach Shawn Garus announced Tuesday that he added Nicole Jacob to the 2022 roster. Jacob is a 5-foot-8 setter from Vista Murrieta High School in Murrieta, Calif., where she was a second-team all-conference honoree last fall. The addition of Jacob brings next year's freshmen class to four as she joins Kiersten Van Kirk (already enrolled at Boise State), Elle Cotton, and Bella McGirr.

Jacob was a three-year member and two-year starter for the VMHS varsity team coached by Edward Taitano. She
played on three Southwestern Conference championship teams, going a combined 20-2 in the league and 47-21 overall. Jacob's team won the California Division 1 State Championship her sophomore year and reached the quarterfinals as a senior last fall.

She played her club ball for the same team and coach as former Bronco Danielle Boss, the 951 Elite Volleyball Club coached by Dennis Palpallatoc. Jacob's club team finished in the top-10 at the 2021 Junior Olympics. They also won the 2022 Las Vegas Classic and the 2022 SCVA Girls 18s National Qualifier. This coming weekend, the team will be competing at the SCVA 18s National Championship.

Jacob was named a second-team All-Southwestern Conference as a senior. She is also an academic standout, having been named to the VMHS Principal's Honor Roll all four years. In addition, she has been accepted into the Honors College at Boise State.
