BOISE, Idaho – Ten Boise State football student-athletes were unveiled on the Shrine Bowl 1000, the East-West Shrine Bowl's comprehensive list of the top-1000 all-star game eligible players, it was announced Wednesday.

Boise State's 10 selections were the most among all institutions in the Mountain West.

Of the Broncos recognized, five play on the offensive side of the ball, including quarterback Hank Bachmeier, offensive linemen Cade Beresford and John Ojukwu, wide receiver Stefan Cobbs and running back George Holani.

Defensively, five additional student-athletes earned a spot on the list, including safeties Tyreque Jones and JL Skinner, cornerback Tyric LeBeauf, defensive lineman Scott Matlock and EDGE George Tarlas.

Bachmeier registered 3,079 yards passing and 20 touchdowns last season, completing 63 percent of his passes. The Murrieta, Calif., native moved up Boise State's single-season lists for attempts (ninth, 401) and completions (10th, 252), and he notched his 20th-career game with at least 200 yards passing, the seventh-most in program history.

Beresford joined the Broncos following four seasons at Washington State. In 2021, Beresford started eight of the Cougars' first nine games at right guard.

Ojukwu earned first-team all-conference accolades in 2021. He started all 12 games at left tackle for the Broncos last season, extending his streak to 29-consecutive starts.
