Holani Named to Maxwell Award Watch List

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State running back George Holani was named to the Maxwell Award Watch List, the Maxwell Football Club announced Monday.
The award is presented annually to the best player in college football and is named in honor of Robert "Tiny" Maxwell, a former standout student-athlete at Swarthmore College and a renowned sportswriter and football official.
Holani started seven of the nine games in which he appeared during the 2021 season, leading the team with 569 yards rushing. He added 169 yards receiving on 14 receptions. Additionally, the Bellflower, Calif., native surpassed 100 yards rushing in three-straight games last season.
Semifinalists for the Maxwell Award will be announced Nov. 1, while the three finalists for the award will be unveiled Nov. 22.
