Bronco Quartet Named Preseason All-Mountain West

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State's Jonah Dalmas, Scott Matlock, John Ojukwu and JL Skinner were selected to the 2022 Preseason All-Mountain West Football Team, the conference announced Thursday.
A 2021 Lou Groza Award Semifinalist, Dalmas made a school-record 26 field goals last season, the second-most in MW history, and he was the first Bronco placekicker to be named to the All-MW First Team since 2015.
The Meridian, Idaho native, led the country in field goals per game (2.17) and finished eighth nationally in scoring (9.7 points per game) during 2021. Additionally, his field goal percentage of .929 (26-for-28) ranked seventh nationally, and his career field goal percentage of .917 (33-of-36) is the highest amongst active kickers.
Dalmas was just one of two student-athletes from the MW to earn a spot on the Athlon Preseason All-America Team earlier this month.
Matlock registered a team-leading 8.5 tackles-for-loss and seven sacks in 2021, and his 41 tackles (29 solo) led all Bronco defensive linemen.
Ojukwu's selection marks the sixth-straight season Boise State has had at least one offensive lineman on the preseason all-conference squad.
A first-team All-MW honoree in 2021, the Boise native started all 12 games at left tackle for the Broncos last season, extending his streak to 29-consecutive starts.
Skinner earned second-team all-conference honors in 2021. He led the Broncos in tackles (92), solo tackles (66) and fumble recoveries (three), and his two forced fumbles tied for first among Bronco defenders last season. He also recorded seven tackles-for-loss, five pass breakups and two interceptions, marks that tied for the second-most on the team last season.
