Women’s Golf Unveils 2022-23 Schedule

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State women's golf head coach Kailin Downs announced the team's 2022-23 schedule, Tuesday.
Downs is entering her second season at the helm of the Broncos' squad and will lead her team through four tournaments in the fall and five in the spring prior to the Mountain West Championships, set for April 18-20.
For the second-consecutive season, Boise State will kick off its schedule with a visit to Springville, Utah for the Hobble Creek Fall Classic, Sept. 12-13, where the Broncos notched a fourth-place finish in 2021.
The Blue and Orange will compete at the Ptarmigan Ram Classic Sept. 26-27 at the Ptarmigan Country Club in Fort Collins, Colo., marking the second-straight season Boise State has participated in the event. Last season, then-sophomore Elli Gordon led the Broncos registering her third top-25 finish of the season. The Redmond, Ore., native, moved up nine spots during the final day of competition to tie for 23rd, carding consecutive rounds of 75 (+9).
The Broncos will travel to Broken Arrow, Okla., for the Dale McNamara Invitational at the Cedar Ridge Country Club, Oct. 10-11. Boise State concludes its fall schedule, Oct. 23-25, at The Clash at Boulder Creek in Boulder City, Nev.
Play resumes for the spring segment of competition, Feb. 13-14, as the Blue and Orange travel to Palm Desert, Calif., for the Mountain Classic Match Play, followed by the Beach Invite in Mission Viejo, Calif., Feb. 27-28, and the Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird Invitational at the Sunbrook Golf Course in St. George, Utah, March 9-11.
The Broncos will conclude their regular-season slate with back-to-back tournaments. The Anuenue Spring Break Classic will be played at the Ka'anapali Royal Golf Course in Maui, Hawaii, March 27-29, and the Cowgirl Classic at the Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Course in Maricopa, Ariz., April 3-4.
In 2021, then-sophomore Franca Polla garnered runner-up honors as Boise State placed sixth overall at the Cowgirl Classic (April 4-5). Polla (76-67-72—215) fired 5-under in the second round, the lowest round of any individual in the tournament and the fourth-lowest round in Bronco history.
Additionally, her 54-hole total tied for the fifth-lowest in school history, and her 36-hole score of 143 tied for sixth.
The Blue and Orange look to improve upon its fourth-place finish at the 2023 MW Championships, the team's highest finish in nine years. Boise State's score of 892 (301-296-295, +28) shattered the 54-hole conference championship school record of 915 set back in 2015.
The conference championships will be held at the Dinah Shore Tournament Course at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, Calif., for the 11th-straight year. (The 2020 MW Championship was canceled due to COVID-19).
