Cotton Named MW Freshman of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Boise State's Elle Cotton has been named the Mountain West Volleyball Freshman of the Week after helping the Broncos to a sweep of two home matches over New Mexico and Air Force.

Elle Cotton played in both victories over the week at setter as the Broncos defeated New Mexico in five sets and Air Force in three. She had 48 assists, three kills, one service ace, nine digs and 5.5 points.

In the win over UNM, Cotton played in the last four sets. She started the decisive fifth set, sparking the offense – which had not hit better than .178 percent in the previous three sets – with six assists and helping the team hit a match-high .368 percent.

She earned her third start of the year on Saturday leading the Broncos past Air Force as the team hit a season-high .410 percent. She finished the match with 33 assists, three kills, one service ace, seven digs, two block assists and 5.0 points.
