Volleyball Awarded AVCA Academic Team Honor

LEXINGTON, Ky. –  Boise State volleyball was recognized by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) for an academic team honor. This marks the eighth-consecutive year and ninth time that the Broncos have been awarded for their excellence in the classroom by the AVCA.Â
"I am excited to see the team recognized again by the AVCA," head coach Shawn Garus said. "Academics is a priority and this award shows the emphasis our team puts into their studies."
To be eligible for an AVCA Academic Team honor, the team must maintain a GPA of at least 3.3 in the 2025-26 academic year. Boise State achieved a GPA of 3.41 to earn this accolade.Â
Kendall Hastings and Hallee Heath earned team-high cumulative GPA of 3.77 and 3.70, respectively. Â
Among the AVCA academic team honor, the Broncos had their two setters, Elle Cotton and Lilli Etter, named College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District during the academic year. In addition, 10 Broncos earned 2025 fall academic all-conference.Â
Since the 1992-93 academic year, the AVCA has awarded collegiate and high school teams for their success in the classroom, achieving a cumulative GPA of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale). For the 2025-26 academic year, the AVCA recognized 1,432 volleyball programs.
