Boise, Idaho – Boise State bounced back from a three-game losing streak with a 60-53 win over Fresno State, Thursday, in ExtraMile Arena.

The Broncos (8-11, 3-3 MW) were stout defensively in the opening period, holding the Bulldogs (8-13, 1-7) to just 16.7% from the floor in the first quarter. Boise State used a balanced attack offensively in the first half, with seven different Broncos finding the bottom of the net for the squad to take a 24-21 lead into the locker room.

Elodie Lalotte got rolling out of the break, scoring six of the team's first eight points of the second half. The junior was sent to the bench after picking up her third foul with 5:30 left in the third quarter, but Trista Hull and Tatum Thompson combined for nine points over the remainder of the period to send Boise State to the final quarter up 46-40.

Fresno State pulled within four with 1:33 left in the contest, but Dani Bayes responded with a jumper to give the Broncos a 58-52 lead with 58 seconds remaining. After a series of stops, Hull sealed the game by draining two free throws with 16 seconds on the clock to help the team voyage to a 60-53 win.

Quotables

"I'm really pleased with this win because it was a big team win. Dani hit a huge shot late. Mary Kay sped the game up against the press in the third quarter which was really helpful. Tatum grew up a lot tonight. She was fearless, she wanted the ball. Trista came up huge for us with Abby and Elodie in foul trouble. Everyone stepped up tonight which was great to see." – head coach Gordy Presnell

"We have a lot of games coming up in a short amount of time. It's going to be a battle Saturday in Albuquerque and then we will have three games in six days. It's a brutal schedule but it sure helps to kick this stretch off with a victory." - Presnell
