COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Dani Bayes has been named the Mountain West Co-Freshman of the Week, the conference announced, Monday. The recognition marks the second time this season Bayes has earned the award.

Bayes, who was recognized alongside Sabrina Ma (San Jose State), averaged 10.3 points per game over the week, highlighted by a 16-point performance at New Mexico, Saturday. The Brisbane, Australia native matched her career-high from behind the arc against the Lobos, hitting four shots from deep while adding a career-high seven rebounds and dishing out three assists. The freshman also scored a team-high 10 points in a win over Fresno State on Thursday.

The award marks the fifth MW Freshman of the Week honor for Boise State this season. Bayes previously earned the recognition on Jan. 2 while Natalie Pasco won the award on Nov. 21 and Dec. 26. Mya Hansen also earned the honor on Dec. 5. The Broncos are the only team in the MW to have three different freshmen earn the recognition in the same season since the conference began the award last year.

Boise State returns to action on Thursday, Jan. 26, as the Broncos host Air Force. The game will be broadcast on the MW Network with the game scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. MT in ExtraMile Arena.
