BOISE, Idaho – Ashton Jeanty, a sophomore on the Boise State football team, has been named the Ford Boise State Student-Athlete of the Week for Nov. 20-26.
Jeanty recorded 225 yards from scrimmage in Boise State's 27-19 win against Air Force, which catapulted the Broncos into the MW Championship. He totaled 107 rushing yards on 14 carries, averaging 7.6 yards per carry. He also caught five passes for a career-high 118 yards, averaging 23.6 yards per reception. He is the first Bronco with 100 rushing yards and 100 receiving yards in a game since Jeremy McNichols did it in 2016.
On Tuesday, Jeanty became the second sophomore and third Bronco to earn MW Offensive Player of the Year. He is the first player in the FBS to record 1,000 rushing yards and 500 receiving yards in a season since 2019, and the first to accomplish that feat in 10 games since 2016.
The sophomore had a career-long 75-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter and ran for a 50-yard touchdown in the third quarter. He is the only player in the FBS with multiple rushing touchdowns of 50 or more yards and multiple receiving touchdowns of 50 or more yards.
This is the second time Jeanty has been named Ford Boise State Student-Athlete of the Week. He shared the honors with Paige Bartsch of the volleyball team on Sept. 27. He is the second-straight Bronco running back to earn the award, following George Holani's Nov. 22 recognition.
On Saturday, Boise State will compete in its seventh MW Championship Game, kicking off at UNLV at 1 p.m. MT/Noon PT on FOX. The seven appearances are the most of any team in the league and a win would secure a conference-leading fifth championship for the Broncos.
