Emily Lopez Makes History, Broncos Conquer Cougars on Senior Night

BOISE, Idaho – Junior Emily Lopez scored the first 10.000 on bars in Boise State history, and the Bronco gymnastics team cruised to its third-straight victory, defeating BYU 196.500-194.925 Friday night at ExtraMile Arena.
Boise State jumped out to a 1.100 advantage in the first rotation thanks to a 49.300 performance on vault. A pair of 9.900 from junior Courtney Blackson and Lopez, and a 9.875 from senior Adriana Popp led the way.
Lopez stole the show in the second rotation, bringing the 2,277 fans inside ExtraMile Arena to their feet by scoring a 10.000 on bars. The perfect score capped a 49.125 team display to help the Broncos increase their lead to 98.425-97.025.
Boise State's advantage continued to grow in the third rotation, as the team posted a score of 49.150 on beam. The event was highlighted by 9.875 performances from Lopez and sophomore Emma Loyim.
In the fourth and final rotation, three scores of 9.850-or-better on floor sealed the senior-night victory for Boise State.
