LOGAN, Utah – Boise State gymnast Emily Lopez was named the MRGC Bars and Beam Specialist of the Week following her performances in the Broncos' 196.525-195.525 upset over No. 16 Southern Utah (Feb. 22), the conference announced Monday.
Fresh off her 10.000 performance on bars against BYU (Feb. 17), Lopez executed another near-flawless routine on the apparatus during the first rotation, earning a 9.950.
The junior tallied a 9.900 on beam, sharing the weekly accolade with Utah State's Brianna Brooks and Carley Bayles, and BYU's Mina Margraf.
Lopez has collected 12 MRGC Specialist of the Week awards this season, including five on bars and a trio on beam.
Next, Boise State faces Minnesota in Minneapolis, Saturday, March 4 at 3 p.m. MT.
