COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – For the third time this season, Boise State guard Natalie Pasco has been named the Mountain West Freshman of the Week, the league announced, Monday.
Pasco helped the Broncos (12-13, 7-5 MW) win three-straight games on the week. Coming off the bench, the freshman scored in double figures in all three games, averaging 12.3 points per game while shooting 61.9% (13-of-21) from the field and 55.6% (5-of-9) from the 3-point line.
The Danville, Calif. native started the week with a team-high 14 points against San Diego State, shooting 6-of-8 from the field and hitting a pair of 3-pointers. She followed that game by scoring 11 points and draining another pair of triples against Nevada. Pasco finished the week with a 12-point performance against Fresno State, shooting a perfect 3-of-3 from the field and making all five of her free throw attempts.Â
Pasco has also been named the MW Freshman of the Week on Nov. 21 and Dec. 26. Boise State has now earned the award six times on the season – Dani Bayes earned the honor on Jan. 2 and Jan. 23 while Mya Hansen was honored Dec. 5. The Broncos are the only team in the MW to have three different freshmen earn the recognition in the same season since the conference began the award last year.
Boise State will look to expand its three-game winning streak against New Mexico, Thursday, in ExtraMile Arena. The game will tip off at 6:30 p.m. MT and be broadcast on the MW Network.
