COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Boise State men's golf swept the Mountain West weekly golf awards, the conference announced on Thursday. Max Charles was named the Mountain West Men's Golfer of the Week, while Cole Rueck was named the conference's Men's Freshman Golfer of the Week.

Charles set the school record for 36-hole and 54-hole scores while winning the PING Cougar Classic by six strokes this past weekend. Charles fired rounds of 68-63-66 (197, -19) to break the former school records held by Troy Merritt from the 2008 season.

En route to his third career victory, Charles birdied or shot par on 53-of-54 holes on the weekend.

Rueck was the top freshman from the conference at the PING Cougar Classic, finishing in a tie for 36th. The Corvallis, Ore., native shot two rounds under-par to finish at 215 (70-74-71, -1).

The Broncos continue their season this weekend at the Mountain West Championship. Action from the OMNI Tucson Resort will run April 28-30.
