Partnership will benefit students, student-athletes and fans alike
BOISE, Idaho – Boise State has extended its long-term partnership with Swire Coca-Cola and The Coca-Cola Company as the exclusive beverage sponsor of the University and Bronco Athletics with the rights to sell and distribute all beverages on campus. Coca-Cola products will be served at all University-sponsored events, venues, and campus beverage vending, in addition to all campus dining locations. The extension was activated on July 1.
As part of the partnership, Swire Coca-Cola will add more grab and go areas across campus that will expand product options and expedite transactions with flexible payment methods by combining connected equipment and digital platforms, including the Coke&Go app.
Coca-Cola will also invest in the athletic department's #WhatsNext initiative, a strategic plan to position Bronco Athletics for long-term success and impact the lives of Boise State's more than 350 student-athletes. Moving forward, every athletic department hydration station will be supplemented and re-branded with the Powerade product line, including all home Boise State athletic events.
The longstanding partnership is grounded in shared values to foster a success-driven center for innovation, providing equitable, transformative opportunities for students to advance Idaho and the world, and a commitment to advance the university's sustainability plan.
"We're excited to announce our continued partnership with one of the best Coca-Cola and local distributors Swire Coca-Cola," said Nicole Nimmons, Associate Vice President for Campus Services. "Together, Coca-Cola and Swire have a long history of commitment to Boise State, supporting university programs for over 35 years. This five-year agreement will benefit our students, student-athletes, campus community, and Bronco fans."
Swire Coca-Cola's full line of products features over 350 beverage options, including 250 low or no calorie options, including carbonated and non-carbonated sodas, cold teas, bottled water, sports, and energy drinks, with campus favorites of Smartwater, CorePower, BodyArmor, and Dr. Pepper.
"As your local bottler, Swire Coca-Cola strives to be an advocate for our people, our customers, our partners, our community, our planet, and Boise State. We are especially proud that this long-term relationship will ensure beverage sales on campus continue to help fund student programs," said Simon Avalos, Swire Coca-Cola, Division Manager of FSOP.
Coca-Cola and Swire are committed to advancing student success through financial sponsorship to enhance the university's goal to foster a thriving community through student engagement events and programs, including health, wellness, sustainability, and scholarships. The partnership also establishes a Coca-Cola scholarship fund.
"Our thanks to The Coca-Cola Company and Swire Coca-Cola for their long-term support of Boise State and the #WhatsNext initiative," said athletic director Jeramiah Dickey. "We look forward to continuing this important relationship with one of the preeminent brands in the world."
