Roles offer real-world experience and leadership development
BOISE, Idaho — Boise State Athletics is now accepting applications for multiple graduate assistant (GA) positions across the athletic department, in partnership with the university's Master of Athletic Leadership program (MAL). All assistantships will begin in June 2026.
"Boise State Athletics is committed to developing future leaders in our industry," said Boise State Athletic Director Jeramiah Dickey. "We have a great partnership with the MAL program, and we appreciate the work of Scott Moorcroft and all of the faculty who help shape the lives of the graduate assistants who serve our athletic department and represent this institution. The experience they gain working throughout all areas of our department while dealing with the real-world opportunities we face every day makes this experience the best in the business. It is incredibly rewarding to see our graduate assistants step confidently into full-time positions across many athletic realms to assist leading organizations to new heights after becoming Boise State graduates."
Areas within the department that currently have graduate assistant openings include:
- Administration/Athletic Personnel Services
- Bronco Athletic Association (BAA)
- BroncoPRO (NIL)
- Equipment Operations
- Event Operations
- Spirit Squad
- Sports Communications
All job descriptions are listed at BroncoSports.com.
Designed to immerse students in the day-to-day operations of a Division I athletic program, the GA roles provide firsthand experience across a wide range of areas, including administration, communications, development, event operations, NIL and team operations. Graduate assistants will work closely with experienced athletics professionals, gaining practical skills and insight that serve as a launchpad for careers in the sports industry.
The assistantships align with the MAL program's mission to develop the next generation of leaders in athletics. Through a combination of academic coursework and experiential learning, participants learn, grow, and lead in a dynamic, competitive environment.
The partnership between the Athletic Department and MAL program began in 2015 with four Athletic graduate assistants. Overall, more than 150 GAs have participated in the program.
