
Mitchell Named MW Defensive Player of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Boise State sophomore Breanna Mitchell has been named the Mountain West Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week for Sept. 18. This is the first MW Player of the Week honor in her career.
Mitchell led the Broncos defensively on a weekend, averaging 17.3 digs per match, helping the Broncos to a 2-1 record and a pair of wins over South Dakota State (3-0) and Montana (3-1).
The sophomore libero led the team with a team-high combined 52 digs over the three matches, averaging 5.2 digs per set, and had a serve-receive percentage of .917 with only four errors on 48 attempts.
In the LMU loss, she tallied 12 digs, followed by 19 digs in the South Dakota State victory, and was perfect in serve receive on 14 attempts. In Saturday's four-set win over Montana, the sophomore recorded 21 digs and had a serve-receive percentage of .947, with only one error on 18 receptions.
The Broncos open MW play this week at home against Colorado State and Wyoming.
