
Bronco Student-Athletes Break Record for Academic Success During Fall Semester

First time all 18 sport programs achieve 3.0 or higher semester grade point average
BOISE, Idaho – Boise State student-athletes combined to record the highest all-department single-semester and cumulative grade-point averages (GPA) in department history, director of athletics Jeramiah Dickey announced Wednesday. The fall term GPA checked in at 3.42 and the cumulative mark stands at 3.41. It is the 33rd consecutive semester the department posted a term GPA of 3.0 or higher.Â
"This is a milestone achievement for our department as the academic success represents growth across all 18 sport programs at unprecedented levels," said Dickey. "Congratulations to all of our student-athletes for achieving this tremendous accomplishment and sincere thanks to our dedicated academic services team who work tirelessly to support the needs of our student-athletes."Â
During the fall semester, 67 student-athletes logged a 4.0 GPA, 171 student-athletes were named to the Dean's List in their respective colleges with a 3.5 GPA or better, and 86% of all student-athletes earned a 3.0 GPA or higher.
Setting fall-semester program bests were men's basketball at 3.25, men's track and field at 3.45, and women's track and field at 3.65. Cumulative GPA program bests were set by women's basketball at 3.72, football at 3.17 and women's golf at 3.68.Â
In December, 16 Boise State student-athletes earned their degrees, representing eight different sport programs.
Classes began for the spring semester on Monday, January 8.
