
Broncos Drop Road Contest to San Diego State

SAN DIEGO – Boise State women's basketball suffered its second-straight loss, falling to San Diego State 79-54, Saturday, at Viejas Arena.
The Broncos (13-8, 4-4 Mountain West) scored the first five points of the contest, but the Aztecs (14-8, 5-4 MW) responded with seven-straight to take an early lead. San Diego State outscored Boise State 13-6 over the remainder of the quarter to take a 20-11 advantage after one. Â
The Aztecs scored 10 points in the first two minutes of the second quarter to increase their lead to 14. The Bronco defense didn't allow an Aztec field goal for the remainder of the half, as Boise State cut the deficit to 32-22 at the halftime break.
San Diego State came out of the locker room on fire, whittling off 14 points in the first five minutes of the third quarter to hold a 46-30 lead at the media timeout. The Aztecs ended the quarter on a 12-5 run to take a 58-35 advantage into the final frame.

- The sophomore hit five or more 3-pointers for the third time this season and the fifth time in her career.
- The two teams split the season series, with Boise State defeating San Diego State 68-59 on Jan. 13.
